Hi Andy, Originally bought a small bottle from a Gun Shop Supplier in Sydney then stumbled on a larger bottle at DIY Guitars closing down sale.

There is also a Gun Shop Supplier at Noosa or thereabouts. Just need to google "where can I buy Tru Oil in Australia" and it brings up a list to pick through. You can also buy it on eBay from a supplier at Mansfield in Brisbane who is a bit more expensive than others.

PBG now stock it and I think orders over $25 post for free and that is how I will buy any more in the future.

Ahhh right, thanks for that. For some reason I thought there was a couple of suppliers up there. He found the one at Noosa, but I think the prices are dearer than Brissy and the hike was almost the same.

Final wet sand before polishing and fitting hardware.

Progress has been slow as I have become a bit distracted with a couple of other builds on the go at the moment too. Seemed to make sense to apply top coats of finish across all three at the same time but the time has come to finish this one off plus I am running out of hanging space.

Finish was pretty good before neck was glued and luckily there was no glue ooze to clean up however maybe a little bit might not have been so bad as it would have completely filled the neck pocket joint. I thought that by adding more coats of top finish that might do the trick but geez, what a pain in the butt it becomes once the neck has been attached on such a long and weird shaped body. Not to mention how careful you need to be to avoid fingerprints when trying to hang it back up once wet.

Today I wet sanded with micro mesh pads from 4000, 6000, 8000, up to 12000 and was surprised that even at finest grade that it was still removing some gritty bits. As we were heading for the arvo didn't have time to start on polishing and will get to that during the week. I will post some shots showing progress plus before and after waxing fret board with Dingo Wax.

Fret board was quite light and rather dry. Unfortunately my Dingo wax has dried out really hard and even when left in full North facing sun for a couple of hours only softened a little bit. Here is the Fretboard after initial waxing.

Really happy with how the DT CG colour turned out and have posted a couple of shots of other guitars I was trying to replicate. One is the Ibanez Destroyer, like the one I owned back in the 1980's, and another is a shot of an Epiphone one I found for sale on eBay.

To the naked eye it looks more like the last shot shown hanging in the garage.

Getting closer to the finish line.

Here is a shot with her big brother earlier today after fitting most of the hardware.

Waz, thats turned out a treat. Its amazing the difference when you put the hardware on. To be honest I think the grain has come out better on your builds than the Epiphone and the colour is much more striking. Great job mate, well done on the patience as well, its been a while in the making.
