Third application of the stain coat and the second for the DT neck finish on the neck (no stain).

Can I just say I am seriously impressed with the neck finish coat. even after one application (and a little over a week drying in good conditions) The neck is seriously playable, its super smooth and extremely slick. Its making me seriously reconsider any other neck finish.

Probably see you in another week.

Looking good Andy. Amazing how you can gain fill and sand super smooth an Ash body yet once stained it looks like it needs more filler if chasing a smooth all over finish as this is what I have discovered on my J Bass build and yours seems to have a similar appearance too.

That Rosewood stain is amazing, I am stoked as to how nice it looks on the Ash..
As it cures the colour should deepen a bit more..
Think we might have to add this colour to the catalogue

There is always a workaround for glitches, mistakes and other Guitar building gremlins.....

    Yeah I dropped it!

no amount of swear words can explain the way i feel right now.

Thinking of keeping going as it is. if anyone has a miracle cure for this let me know.

I expect the answer will be to sand it back and restain.

That's no good Looks like a chip has come out of it. I would be thinking something along the lines of glueing the chip back in with titebond stained with same top coat colour. It may hide the damage to some extent. Other forumites may have some better ideas... In the meantime I would put the axe down, locate the chip and walk away from it for a bit. That will give you space to gather your thoughts and the plan of attack for it.

bugger Andy, as Ponch has suggested see if you can locate the chip. Otherwise I'd match the colour best you can with Timbermate and fill it and only do a local sand back and re-stain

must be national swear day with the drop, TonyW's pickup wind fail and DB's LP neck getting loose on the router !
