Hope it all goes well, I needed to order some extra bits and pieces for my Strat build from Realtone Music, one of the bits I ordered was a 5-Position Tritan Pickup-Selector Switch because I didn't get one in my kit, also, there was a missing Strat Bridge screw, so I ordered two sets of six, as well as some vintage cloth wire, and a .1uF Paper In Oil Capacitor for the tone controls, I was lucky enough to have three good 250k Log CTS pots in amongst my bits and pieces so I didn't need to order any pots, when I get round to doing the soldering of the pickguard I'm going to include a mini-tutorial on soldering for those interested, there'll be pics included too.

So I'm waiting on the bits I ordered from Realtone Music and the three new ASN57 pickups, hopefully with those my build should be relatively noise-free.

Cheers mate, I reckon the DT CG Final Coat is definitely bringing the colour back, the body may look subtly darker in colour.

Here's a couple of new updates for you:

Firstly, I have just come back from doing some shopping for a new Memory Card for my Nikon A100 Digital Camera, I managed to buy a new Sandisk 16Gb SDHC Memory Card from the Winnellie Post Office for only $9.99, so now my Nikon A100 Digital Camera has heaps of memory space installed, that means I'll be able to shoot a demo video of my finished Strat for you guys.

Secondly, the Strat body feels dry to the touch, but I will give it a few more days to fully dry before applying one more coat of DT CG Final Coat (a total of three coats), and then once that last coat has fully dried I will call the finish work done and dusted.

Incidentally, the Strat body has taken on a bit of a glossy sheen, and is looking pretty good so far, might see if I can post a couple of more pics for you, so stay tuned.

    Okay, here are the pics:

good one Doc, on the home stretch now. I'd give the final coats minimum 3 days curing between coats, more if you are patient

Cheers Wokka, yep, I totally understand the wisdom of being patient, I might just play it safe and give the very last coat of DT CG Final Coat a generous fortnight to dry, I'll see how the second coat of DT CG Final Coat is this coming Sunday, that's another four days from today.

good stuff Doc, DB recommends 3 full weeks curing after last coat before you can polish it.
Gives you plenty of time to do a fret level and get your headstock logo on
