Yeah, but I'm a gentleman, and as the saying goes....."Ladies before gentlemen", I do realize that I'm a bit too old fashioned for my own good.....lol.

Okay, I'll get a move on then, I'll go and apply a new coat of intensifier to the Strat body and take a pic of it for you guys, I didn't end up doing it last night because my back was sore, so I'll make up for that this afternoon.

I've just applied a new coat of CG intensifier to the Strat body, just hang on a minute and I'll post a couple of pics of it, the sim card in my Camera is getting a bit full so I'll need to empty it out first though, stay tuned.

Here we go, these pics are of the Strat body with the new coat of CG intensifier applied to it:

I'm wondering if that's enough intensifier coats (it's the second one), or should i apply another one once it has dried?

nice one Doc, how are you doing both sides without a hanger, hope the front or back isn't resting on wet DT ?

Before I applied the new intensifier coat, I put one of my spare unused nitrile gloves on each of my hands and then I held onto the body using my left hand in a strategic place while I used my right hand to apply the intensifier, the body is resting on three spare pasta sauce jar lids, it doesn't seem to affect the areas where there is wet DT at all.

Incidentally, I didn't have any spare plastic yogurt pots to pour the DT in so I used some clean pasta sauce jar lids to pour the DT into, seems to work a treat so there's an alternative, you can definitely use a lid from a Dolmio Pasta Sauce jar for something to pour the DT into.

Some people might prefer to use other containers but Pasta Sauce lids worked fine for me.

no worries Doc,just be careful resting the wet DT on 3 lids doesn't leave a circle shape on the body.

might be best to stain the back first, then the front and make up a jig with wood blocks so it rests inside the control cavity and hence bare wood

a better method is to cut a hanger out of scrap wood, put 2 screws in is usually enough, then you can clamp the hanger to the working bench and keep the wet stain touching anything and it's easy to handle the body with a hanger

then a hook through a hole at the top you can hang it somewhere to cure

I made a hook out of a coat hanger and hooked it up on a defunct fan in my bedroom, I'll put the body on the hook so it can dry shortly.

After that coat of intensifier has dried, do you think it may need a third coat or do you reckon it'll be ready for the final coat once it has dried?, the difference in colour is very subtle.

Doc by looks of the photo the colour looks great to me. See how it looks in 2-3 days and make a decision then, it's really your decision whether you are happy with the shade of gold.
