So I decided to spray it a seafoam blue kind of colour using rattlecans and it didn't go well. I primed and painted it (after sanding for what seemed like hours) and it just didn't look good. So I stripped it, sanded it, primed and painted it again... and it still looked like crap. I think the ash just didn't like the paint, plus I'm a terrible painter as well.
