Happy New Year and hello from Port Richey Florida.
Hello every one Happy new year. My name is Fredric Rock. I little about me, I have been playing guitar for nearly over 30 years. I started modding by doing pickup installs and also amp repairs. But the 3 3 year I took a Yamaha acoustic to have a bone nut and saddle installed. So I go pick it up and the gay says it sounds very tiny, but he said that cutting down the treble would be sufficient. I get home with it and started playing right away not eve 2 minutes into playing it the strings dropped at the nut. so he did not cut it thin enough to fit the slot it was 3mm too wide. Then I looked at the saddle and to my surprise that was too thin and sitting slanted forward not making proper contact against the piezzo pickup. So I got on ebay and found a bone saddle blank and watched some videos on youtube and cut the saddle to length and filed it to to height and compensation. The nut I filed it to the correct width and my guitar now play great and sounds great. SO that how I started and now my friends have me do all their acoustics for bone upgrades. I just finished a Stratocaster with no Fender parts and it was 6 months of hard work to get it going. I will post some pics of it later and a list of everything that I used to build it. As for the screen name Triumph904 I ride a Bonneville which I installed the Wiseco 904CC kit.
