Oh ok...maybe my sanding technique needs work then. I really find it difficult to sand after they have been stained and teying to keep it even....maybe im using to much pressure....let the sandpaper do the work could be my problem.

I use the sanding block on flat surfaces and curves or concaved ifollowed gavins video advice gently guiding the strips under fingers and pull through.
