I remember seeing some of those Groovie Goolies cartoons when I was young. They were bad.

It certainly was. Even though the cartoons were made between 1970 and 71, they were very firmly rooted in the mid '60s, especially with regards to the music.
Some of the British kids shows of that era are .....different.
