My son and I are just starting his 3/4 ST-1JR.

Best thing to do is to start a build thread, you can post your questions there and one of the other forumites will pick it up and give you some advice (usually more than one!).
If you haven't done it already, it's a good idea to check out the "building your Pitbull guitar" Section as there is some tutorial stuff there, some of this is being reviewed and updated at the moment. That should give you a good starting point.
