Bet your Marshall combo all valve amp sounds good, does that have a pair of 12" speakers ? What's it in repair for, new valves ?

That's cool mate, are you going to go and see them live, or will you have other plans?, yeah I'm going to make sure I take my camera with me cause I want to get some good pics to post in this forum for you guys, I'm pretty sure you'll be interested in seeing a pic of my mate's amp rig that I've been helping him with, there's one of his guitars I want to get a pic of for the forum, cause I know all the members will be interested in checking it out.

Yeah, my Marshall has two 12 inch speakers in it, I reckon they are Eminences but I could be wrong, my Marshall amp is being repaired because it has a rather nasty habit of blowing a fuse at random times with no warning, so I can't rely on it for gigging till it gets fixed, it could be something simple as a faulty EL34 Power Valve, or maybe a suspect Output Transformer, so Colin Simpson, the guy who's working on the amp, is going to try replacing the Output Transformer and all the 4 stock Power Valves.

Hey Doc I just sent a group email out to my mates to see if they are keen for Iron Maiden, I'll go if one or mate wants to go.

I've seen them live before and they still rock out for semi aging rocker !

I reckon so, Iron Maiden are supposed to be a really good live band, I think they still have Bruce Dickinson as their frontman, classic New Wave Of British Heavy Metal, they've been around for a really long time.

yeah Doc I saw them probably around 2007/2008 and they sounded as good live as their earlier live albums. Pretty sure Bruce Dickinson is still the front man. The playing was so tight and riffs sounded so good they could record a live gig anywhere and sell the music !

I really wish that they would come and do a live show up here in Darwin, we don't get very many good bands putting on a live show up here, there's an event called Bass In The Grass, but that usually only happens once a year.

I think Cold Chisel were up here one time, unfortunately I missed it due to not being able to afford an entry ticket.

yeah thats a bummer Doc there's not many big bands touring Darwin.
Perth miss out on quite a few shows (east coast only) but we are pretty lucky still get some good headlining bands here

I saw Cold Chisel here November last year and Living End supported - great show
