New member and first attempt at building.

    Hi
Wanted to introduce myself on this site. My name is Gary and I’m from Birmingham in the UK. I’ve been playing guitar now for about ten years and decided I’d like to try my hand at an arch top semi. It’s been a bit of s labour of love and I was more than challenged with the electrics for this guitar. But overall I’m proud of my first attempt. I’m going to try and show the pictures on this site and maybe hopefully get some good advice and guidance on my next project. I’m thinking about decorating the next guitar with cut out articles from back copies of music press. And possibly doing a burst pattern around the edge.

    Hi Gary and welcome.

It would be great to see your work. Your project idea sounds very interesting and is certainly achievable.

I'm trying to upload pictures of the finished guitar but the web site says the pictures need to be 1500 x 1500. My phone doesn't allow me to change resolution.

1500 x 1500 is the largest size allowed, you can go smaller. If your using a pc, use the free Faststone photo Resizer program, if using your phone, download a jpg image resizer from the play store. i use 1290 x 900, seems to be a good size for me.

    after resizing your images......

its called emerald green. I applied 12 coats of Nitro Cellulose with a light flattening off between each coat. I upgraded the pickup for a Seymour Duncan P90. I loved doing this but will now have a bit more confidence to tackle the next one.

I am planning to apply layers of press cuttings from a copy of a 1967 record mirror to the face. I want to spray a burst around the edge and the a clear lacquer to the finish.

Looking great Gary, I'm a bit of a sucker for green.

There are a few different ways you can get pics in your post. Personally I don't like the forum uploader, so instead I use this method, hosting on Imgur.
