A young chap over here in Tassie posted a Tele on Facebook for "make an offer". Has anyone seen a Tele decal like that in the photo? I'm pretty sure it's fake, as is the prospective seller. The serial indicates 2006 as the year.

Also there's no walnut surround on the struss rod access point.

It's got CBS-era style late 60s/70s 'Telecaster' lettering, but the look of an earlier 'Fender' logo. They are normally solid black or black with a gold edge from this period. This is an earlier (or later) Fender style so doesn't hang with the 'Telecaster'.
Is this a standard 2 x singles coil tele? Or is it a custom or a thinline Tele or something that might give you a reason to expect to see CBS style lettering on?
I've done an image search for 2006 Fender Telecaster headstocks and can't find one similar. If vaguely similar, they've normally got the serial number on the front and/or an ® after 'Fender.'
The truss rod hole looks like one from a copy or a Squier. The vintage re-issues have the truss rod adjustment on the heel end of the neck.
So I say fake.
It was the lettering of the word Telecaster that raised alarms bells for me. Too blocky and dead straight. Looks like a poor copy. Plus there are shots of the body which show something like a 7 piece body. It's a standard two-single-coil Tele layout but with a Chinese looking bridge and unstamped neck plate. Definitely non-genuine, but it's not being advertised as such.

I think some Mexican Fenders have that blocky "Telecaster".
