    SG crossed with Danelectro longhorn

There has been a bit of talk about original designs lately, and this one kind of came to me: a cross between a Gibson SG and a Danelectro Long horn. Instead of short little devil horns, they would be long and exaggerated:

Depending on hardware and finish it could be just as appealing to the metal crowd as rockabilly and surf rock enthusiasts.

Not that straight up Danelectro style kits would go astray either...

I wonder how Maton would feel if it was close to their elToro guitars & basses

Given the El Toro was a copy of the Longhorn, I'd say they'd be cool with it

Besides which, with only 56 El Toro guitars in existence, I reckon there'd even be Maton employees who have haven't heard of them.

Very good points, I sold my old L202 that needed massive refurb a few weeks ago to someone who wants to shower it with love

Oh man! Why didn't you call? Nice to see it went to an appreciative home.

Something like this or more like the hollow body? Its a bit odd as the horns add an extra 'wave' to the body shape, but it does look kinda cool.

I agree about the extra 'wave' thing, there wasn't one in my mental image. I pictured the horns a bit wider and with less of a bump either side of the neck pick up.

Solid or hollow? Hrmmmmmmmmmmmmm. To quote the girl in the taco add "why not have both?"

...and dear God that name!!!! If this were to be a Pitbull Guitar, it would have to be a Horndog.

Hah, this is true. Give me ten I'll see if I can make the shape you are describing.

Surprisingly difficult to combine those shapes. I've had another go. Might need to see a sketch of how you see it going together.

This one is better, I would like to see it with shorter horns while you're at it
