    Relic Daphne STA-1R, by Sundragon

    - Aged Gotoh Trem bridge
    - Pro series Strat blender electronics
    - Tonerider Classic Vibe pickups
    - Daphne blue Nitro

Here's step one, paint is done. Have to cap the front AND back of the headstock before I can do anything with that.

looks great Sundragon, love the colour. Looks like you prepared the body well before the paint went on. Can't see any grain or runs. Top job

    Hey Wokka,

    Cheers

There's actually heaps of 'grain' waves because it's ash and there were valleys for days! I like it though cause it will add even more character to the relic process.

I'm really pleased with my first ever painting attempt though. I'd hope so too, there's $200 of Nitro on there :S

no worries Sundragon, sure you can see every bit of grain and waves. Will look cool for sure. Look forward to seeing the relic-ing. Would be cool to see some raw ash grain

That's actually a nice shade of blue, a bit like Sky Blue, can't wait to see this one finished, I wouldn't mind doing a Daphne Blue Strat one day.

Mate nice work. I was going to say, the real deal...expensive nitro...props to you. I wish I could do a Daphne blue or Sonic blue strat.....maybe one day. Tonerider Classic Vibe pickups? not heard of these, are they the classic blues? would love to see a pick of the Gotoh bridge

I'm pretty sure that the Tonerider Pure Vintage are the same pickups as the Squier Classic Vibe ones so there may be a bit of name confusion going on

I've heard that too DK, but any squier I've pulled apart has two or one ceramic bar magnets per pup rather than alnico poles like the Toneriders
