G'day from the Central Coast of NSW

Afternoon everyone, Just purchased my first kit from the boys an LP-SS1. As it is the first and I suffer from "tool shortage" at the moment, cheating a bit and getting dingobass to shape the headstock and fettle the neck. looking forward to getting stuck in. Will start a build diary once I get going, and will try and search for previous answers before posting too many questions

    Cheers

Welcome bud, good to see some more tasty Spalted goodness getting around the forum!
Look forward to seeing your custom headstock from DB!
Any ideas on what colour you're going to do, or will that depend on how the spalt looks when you receive it?

Cheers for the welcome Wokkaboy / Zandit75, at the moment I'm looking at the Dingotone Collangatta Gold on top, with something darker on the back ,sides and neck to contrast. Probably do the head stock in classic LP black. What I can't decide at the moment is what colour of DiMarzio PAF 36th Anniversary PUPs to use, cream, black or Zebra.Maybe wait till I see the body colour in the flesh before making that choice.

Sounds pretty close to mine(You can see the link to my build below) except I used the clear finish on mine. Keep in mind, the head stock will also feature a veneer of spalted maple on it too.

hey Rossco! Welcome to the forum. I am also on the central coast - in Holgate. Where do you hail from? Great to finally have a fellow coastie doing some building. Looking forward to reading about your build and seeing the end result.

Personally I can't go past zebra PUPs, although if I ever make that 3-pickup LP I've been dreaming about I may use all cream for the middle .

    cheers,
    Gav.

Cheers Gav, Well I hail from Glasgow originally, but now I'm only a few mins away from you. Springfield, just the other side of the Bridge.

Niiiice! We'll have to have a PBG jam session one of these days. (Even though my playing is craptastic :P ). I've built quite a few PBG kits now, so if you ever want to see how a particular model plays give me a holler!

    cheers,
    Gav.
