New scratch build 5 string fretless

Here's one for all the bottom enders to keep an eye on.

Scott over on the Shergold forum has done some amazing scratchies and here's the beginning of his latest effort

If it's anything like his previous work it will be stunning and he fabricates pretty much everything except the pots & machine heads.

Here's a link to the Genesis 12/4 replica he built

some very nice builds there DK, thanks for sharing that. I had a quick flick through both builds and they are both very impressive. Scott is a very talented luthier. Can't believe he cut the birdseye maple wings in half by hand. Apparently maple is hard work to cut by hand !
    Current Builds and status
scratch end grain pine tele - first clear coat on !
    JBA-4 - assembled - final tweaks
Telemonster double scale tele - finish tobacco burst on body and sand neck

    Completed builds
scratch oak.rose gum Jazzmaster - assembled needs setup
    MK-2 Mosrite - assembled - play in
Ash tele with Baritone neck - neck pup wiring tweaks and play in

Just to add a bit about Shergolds, I have mentioned before that they were hand made in the UK from the mid 70 into the early 80 and are part of the Burns / Ned Callan / Hayman family.

I have a Masquarader which has a pair of coil tapped passive humbuckers that can be switched in any which way for a massive tonal palate

The other main member of the family was the Modulator which was produced at the same time, the modules were active and could be swapped out as and when required, the Genesis replica has Active Modules

A list and description of the modules here http://www.shergold.co.uk/modules.html

Scott has done an update and this build is starting to look rather stunning, well worth following
