Hey Max. You got any updates on this insanity?
Hey Max. You got any updates on this insanity?
OK Lawry, here we go:
I've been busy making all the fiddly parts which will populate the playfield e.g. pop bumpers, drop target bank, standup target, kickout saucer, wire guides, lane guide, plastics and their posts, lighting inserts, rebound unit etc. (Pinheads will dig all this shit)
Also got stuck into the paintwork at long last, still some to do, then the black linework goes on by hand, followed by the printed artwork - some on transparencies, some opaque.
Yet to be built will be a spinner, gate, rebound mount, saddle & the upper arch guides all from sheet ally.
I reckon about 80% of this phase is done.
The sharp-eyed amongst you might spot a roll of copper sheathing, which will be applied flat under the playfield. With all the electronics & switching, I reckon it will be essential.
Next phase will be the LED lighting (the chaser control kit just turned up today as it happens, yippee!)
PIc 1: All the bits ready to go . . .
Pic 2: Decal sheets complete with stuff ups.
P.S. my psychiatrist is making a fortune out of me![]()

Max - lack of responses for a couple of hours is that you've totally stunned everyone... This is a blinder of a build!

It's a sensation!
Another Tommy pun...
This build is remarkable, and a testament to your perseverance.

Yep. I think Brendan is right. What can you say about a build like this? Gotta be one of the coolest, weirdest, freakiest (and a lot of other 'est' words) projects in the history of guitar building.
You are a very patient person!
super cool build Max, this is one of the most bizaar axes I've ever seen, pity it won't be eligible for GOTM because it would win hands down !

Unbeleivable... one really dumb question, is this going to be a functioning Pinnie as well? That would be the wildest Guitar ever built...
Unfortunately it won't be a working pinball.
Have a look inside a real machine if you get a chance - even a simplified version would be beyond my capabilities.
Plus the already burdensome weight would become unbearable. Also with all the coils, contacts etc the RF interference would be atrocious too.
So I've settled for a few "pseudo working" cabinet parts & flashing lights to "look the part".
More soon . . .
simply outstanding Max!
