JM-1 The King's 2nd PitBull build

Still waiting for hardware to show up so time to mull over what colours to settle on.
Tried out a few from the Molotow swatch.


I'm still thinking the Golden Yellow, but still got plenty of considering time.
(edit) Probably not the Vanilla or Menthol as those are the colours of my other guitars.

I quite like the look of the Menthol, but seeing as you already have a guitar in that colour the Golden Yellow would look outstanding. I didn't see the Vanilla option on there

Cadmium yellow or Azure blue both look good.

The Menthol is the darker green I used in my latest Squier Tele repaint.



I'll be using it on my Squier Bronco bass...



Hi Waz. The Cadmium Yellow was the front-runner until I ran this excersise.
Fortunately I still have plenty of time to mull over which option to go for.
I've run the same excersise over again using a cream pearloid scratch plate,
but I'll spare the casual user another colour overdose.

Oooh, I really like the Wasabi... as you may have noticed I'm partial to greens. But I understand if you want to go in a different direction since you've done green before. I really do think the Golden Yellow would look great though

Yeah, I don't mind the greens. Quite a polarising colour though as some absolutely detest it.
Wasabi has a tad more yellow.
Yellow seems to be a running theme.
I'm also part way through re-painting the Epiphone Junior.
That's going to be....yellow.

I have some hardware finally arrive.


As some time has passed, I think it best to finish the neck and get installed to re-measure the scale.
Then I'll set the bridge into position.

So the tremolo cavity will require 3 levels of routing.
The heavy shaded area (where the spring mechanism sits) will be about an inch.
The lighter area is where the tremolo arm fits will be about half that.
The rest of the cavity only about a quarter inch.



The bridge studs are not open ended.
There are 2 screws that bottom out on the ends to raise/lower each end of the bridge.

The saddles also are individually adjustable up/down and back/forward.

This means the studs will not be removable via my preferred method.

As a work-around I'll drill the first holes to accommodate just the bridge without the studs. and once satisfied that it's sitting correctly, I'll enlarge the holes to fit the studs. (After the body has been finished).
