    DIY Rig Cabinets

Here’s what I’ve been mucking around with recently. I’m playing guitar in my band these days (weird for an old bass player, especially as I’m singing too!) and I’ve been experimenting with a two amp set-up. Thing is it’s a pain to move around so I came up with this solution.

I made three cabinets from 12mm ply that fit on a home-made dolly. The two amps each have their own box, and then there’s a third one that has shelves for the two pedalboards, cables, mics etc. Each box is simply glued and screwed together with case latches and some metal corners (not on all the pics). I painted them with the cheapest spray I could find and didn't worry about them being too perfect in finish, just structurally sound. Oh, and I made the pedalboards to suit too - again just ply and pine (still finalising what to put on them!) It works well!

Nice, looks like a real pro setup there, that reminds me I need to do some work sorting out my pedal board, I need to put new carpeting on it cause one of my cats made it stink a bit so to speak, tried using some Domestos on it but the cat-stink was a bit too tenacious and you can still smell it a bit.
