This will be my first attempt at building a guitar kit. The plan is to make a white SG-1L with a black stencil image taken from a demo I made way back with a good friend of mine. He's turning 40 this summer so the plan is to make him a personal and nostalgic gift... we'll see how it turns out.
Pasted together the image below to get an idea of what I'm going for:
So this means I'm planing to paint the body, neck, and head white (no steins, solid white).

I'm actually a righty but the friend I'm building for is a lefty. The headstock and the neck will be solid white as well as the body.
Received the kit and started out by shaping the headstock. Here are some pics next to my 2001 Gibson Gothic SG. All in all pretty similar. But the body on the Gothic is a bit thinner (not 100% sure but I think they are compared to other Gibsons as well).
