Yep, I'll second that, he really should have put the guitar down, left it alone, took a chill-pill, etc, then come back to it the next day, he reminds me of my younger brother and what he does when things don't go the way he wants them to, he throws a tantrum and then has a great big sulk, my mum used to call him "Chooky's B*mface" whenever he did that, cause of the way he pulls a face.
