    New guitar day!

I am no longer allowed unsupervised access to e-Bay, because things like this happen:

Ibanez MMM1 Baritone 28" scale, 3pc Hog and (Bubinga?) through neck, solid hog body.

Aside from a few minor scratches and some belt rash its is all pretty sweet, the prior owner had replaced 2 of the tuners as he had broken them, as well as replacing the bridge pickup with an SD Distortion trembucker, he kindly donated the remaining tuners from the set and the original Super 58 PUP as part of the deal.

I have discovered my little Roland Cube is not a fan of this thing...I may have to build that Cab sooner than expected!

Good score, I've never played a Baritone guitar before, are they much like a regular guitar to play?

    Nice score Frankie.
Doc the scale length is in between a bass and guitar so a heavier gauge string than a guitar

Yeah it's running a 13 to 70 set of GHS at the moment Doc. But the low end menace, oh the low end....

Oh rightio, I used to experiment with dropped tunings but found that normal gauge strings went all floppy when you tuned them down, so I'm assuming that because of the thicker strings Baritone Guitars are more suited to that than normal-scale guitars.

Exactly, the bloke I bought it from had set this up as Drop A, so A E A D F# B, still a little slack on the sixth but not so bad a de tuning to C on a standard guitar (think Smashing Pumpkins, everlasting gaze)

i think the lowest tuning I've experimented with is tuning the guitar down to "B" so that it goes B,E,A,D,G,B, from low to high, and I was using a set of 46 to 10 gauge strings at the time, even then they were getting a bit floppy.

the tone on Everlasting gaze is one of the most brutally saturated things my ears have ever had the pleasure of hearing... it gives me all the feels
