    Stewmac Radius Gauges

    Hi everyone,

Here's yet another one of my threads, this time it's about a couple of tools I bought from Stewmac and they are two stainless steel Radius Gauges.

So, what is a Radius Gauge and why do we need them?, a Radius Gauge is simply a piece of plastic or metal with one edge shaped with a curve in it, it is used when setting the string height at the 12th fret for all strings on guitars such as a Fender strat, Tele, or any other guitar that features a bridge with individually adjustable string saddles, or, it can be used to gauge the radius of a fretboard on a guitar neck.

I think these tools are a godsend for when it comes to setting up your guitar since it makes the job so much easier, that's why if you're going to be buying any more tools for building your guitar kits, I would thoroughly recommend you buying a set of these.

Here's a pic of my Radius Gauges:Click image for larger version.

I have a set of their under string ones and they are very good, and cover alot of bases, pickup pole piece radius, bridge saddles radius, fretboard radius.

    Love my under string gauges.
My only gripe with them is they aren't long enough for 5-6 string Bass.
Lo and behold, SM have just recently released a new improved version that you could check the span of the Sydney Harbour bridge with

There is always a workaround for glitches, mistakes and other Guitar building gremlins.....
