I've been a bit quiet on here of late. Guitar building has been a bit back burnered for a couple of reasons. Mostly a lot of my free time has been taken up with actually playing music. Since my bands first gig we've been booked for another 3 so we are busily writing more tunes and rehearsing our set list. I've also decided to go back to uni so I can get out of the design world and teach secondary students Art and English.
I do have plans for a twin P90 Deluxster that I'm collecting bits for, but I'm waiting to see what my free time situation looks like after Uni proper starts.
Annnnyway. Prior to our first gig I went to try and find a case for my JMA build, which is seeing band duties. I could not find any generic cases that it fit in well, so I'm glad I didn't try and order online. I've been thinking about having a go at building my own case for a while and figured this was as good a time as any to try. I kind of made it up as I went, it's come up pretty well, I just need to wait for my latches to show up now. The whole thing owes me about $130, so not really a 'cheap' option, but it does exactly fit the Shoegazer and the staircase offset build.
It's not perfect, but I'm pretty happy with it. I'm sure I'll build another one and improve base don lessons learned here. Anyway some pics, ask Questions if you have any.
