Hi there, I have been watching this site for a while, and hey the kids got me a kit for xmas awesome!! Thankfully Jane asked me what one I would be interested in and I am a fan of the odd shaped American guitars and asked for an RG Kit, (that on ebay said set neck) with Cooloongatta Gold finish. Opened her up and sanded it to with in an inch of my life (sorry box shots are after the first lot of sanding)There were some pretty heavy machine marks and lots and lots of filler (not Killer) spread over most of the body, There are a few filled cracks and a few dings that short of hitting it with a belt sander are going to be called character. The neck thing aside, no complaints.

Nice, troy. Beauty thing you got in hands. I hate sanding, always takes me to despair but its necessary to achieve good results..

    keep it up!

    First coat

Sanded all the way to 400, nice and smooth all machine marks well and truly gone one coat of dingotone and I'm real happy with the grain, it just popped out all over the place. Awesome. A real seventy's rd look. Really enjoying how its coming together!!Click image for larger version.
