    Mango's PRS, first build.

Hey everyone, I'm doing my first mock build and I've found that the pick up surround fouls with the fret board. That is, when the neck is pushed back as far as it can go it doesn't leave enough room. My question is "how far into the body does the neck have be inserted? "
    Thanks for any help.

    Hi Mango and welcome.
To establish how far in the neck goes:
Find the scale length for your instrument. Most F types are 25.5 inches (648mm), most G types are 24.75 inches (628mm). Measure from the face of the nut to the top of the 12th fret, double that measurement and you have the scale length. The bridge needs to be situated so the saddles are at a position that allows them to be adjusted for setting the intonation later, so set the saddles to the middle of their adjustment and check that it is approximately at the end of your scale length. So with your bridge in place adjust your neck placement till your scale lengths are correct
