Tone cap placement for the indecisive on Strats and similar

Since the first guitar I built here I have experimented with tone caps (in part at the instigation of Weirdbits). I like the way my tone pots work better now, but it has made me somewhat indecisive. Before I hear the pickups and play with the tone control, I am never sure what tone pot I will want to settle on.

To accommodate my indecisiveness with recent a Strat build I put the tone cap in an odd position. I am now doing the same on my current Jazzmaster-ish build as well. This would work on any guitar with one tone control that has a Strat-type jack plate, a football type, an LP type. I attach one leg the tone cap directly to the jack's ground lug, and run a wire from the other leg to the tone pot. That way if I decide to change the tone cap, I don't have to pull off the entire pickguard. All I need to do is remove the jack plate.

    FWIW ;-)

I can't decide if you meant for the fact that the pots work better or for my indecisiveness?
