Painting an ES model a solid color

    Hey everyone!

I am ordering a spray kit, but the color I select is wholly dependent on whether I am able to paint over the binding. Can I spray nitro over guitar binding or will it not adhere properly? In this instance, I am spraying it metallic gold and don't want to see the binding. If that's not an option, I'll probably just go with a cherry stain.

Apologies if this has been asked before, but I didn't find anything using the search function.

Also - if anyone has a moment, I posted a question about whether my neck seats properly in the body. Simon was kind enough to point me to a thread about a particular issue with the curvature of how it seats, and I believe my kit is okay, but I still want to know if the neck looks like it is at the correct angle when seated. It is not directly parallel with the body so I wanted to be sure it's not a problem. The thread and pictures are here: https://www.buildyourownguitar.com.a...ad.php?t=12214

    Anyway - thanks!

Yes, you can paint over binding. You may need to use grain or wood filler around the edges to fill in any small gaps and then sand the binding to get it level with the body.
