Howdy folks.
I'm building my first bass, after a long time deciding to do it, Pitbull had sold out so I got one from The Fretwire.
I've gone for green, and wanted to see the grain through the paint.
I got my selected colour of Ford paint and got a spray can made up with 30ml of green, 80ml of clear.
It looked good after the first can, but not good enough.
I got another can and made this 40ml green, 70ml clear.
I put two coats of Satin clear over the top, but I'm going to have to do something better. And thicker.
I did the neck and back/sides of the headstock in Rustoleum Satin clear. The front of the headstock is in green.
Waiting now for my Pitbull neck glue to arrive.
I've bought a secondhand Badass jazz bass bridge, a new Seymour Duncan quarter pounder bridge pickup, some 500k Emerson Pro CTS pots, Sprague Orange Drops and some vintage cloth covered wiring.
(I wish I'd found the full online manual before I started .... )
