Hey everyone I am new here and loving this forum! Some very talented people around!
Just received my kit in the mail. Looks to be really well finished. I have been doing some test fittings ect. When test fitting the neck I have checked with a ruler if the neck is square and it appears to be about 3mm shorter on one of the two measurements l took from the nut to the string saddle. Just wondering do I need to to some sanding or shims to counter this? Any help would be awesome! Cheers

Hi Steeley welcome to the forum. Looks like the neck heel/pocket need some sanding. I would get a flat piece of wood and wrap sandpaper around it and sand the bottom of the neck pocket a little, trying to keep the sanding block flat and sand it evenly as possible. Also the maple parts under the fingerboard that rest on the top of the body aren't straight so they will need a sand with a block, test with a straight edge or ruler till they are straight. Do that part first then the depth of the pocket till the neck sits flush on top.
With the tenon part not reaching the back of the neck pickup cavity I'd cut a piece of wood to fit in the gap and glue it in prior to gluing the neck in place.
    Best of luck !
EDIT I just saw your text in the 2nd post. The bridge is supposed to be on a slight angle, the thicker strings need more compensation so more distance from the nut than the thinner strings so that is fine.

Can you post some photos of the base/floor of the neck pocket without the neck in place, just so we can see if anything needs attention.
    Scott.
