    Chungkee's First Build - RC1-M

Pulled the trigger and finally bought myself an RC1-M kit.
Have been eyeing them off for months.

Have just started mock-building and having ordered the Butterscotch Dingotone, this is kind of what I'm modeling it on.

Any tips for a first-time builder?
Was advised by Adam to be careful when sanding with this kit as it's got quite a thin veneer on top.

Any amazing success stories on the site? I quite liked Lawry's build and the Dikkywacker so if any of those guys are out there would be awesome to hear your side of the story!

    Cheers
    Daniel

hey Daniel, kit looks great and some nice rosewood grain on the fingerboard.

Think it was Johnny someone got guitar of the year with a burst RC-1 kit. I'll see if I can find photos.

    Butterscotch will look great

    hey team,
haven't had much time to start on the build yet with recovery and other commitments.

just a quick question about fitting the trapeze bridge:
what measurement should i be using to drill the hole for the strap-pin and screw?

middle of the bridge bushing routs?
middle of the pup routing cavitiies?
    middle of the neck pocket?

please help so i dont make a fool outta myself!

    cheers
    Daniel

Haven't build one of these, but I'd use a combination of the second 2. They should be in line - run a string line down from the centre of the neck pocket and you should be good : unless there is some traditional place for one I dont know of

Hi Daniel, as Stan suggested I usually put a long ruler down the centre of the guitar with the neck in place and you should be able to locate the strap pin/trapeze correctly. Might be worth fitting both E tuners and run some string on the E strings to make sure the string offsets are ok where the bridge is located
