That's a bit of a worry cause I'm planning on buying myself a Fender USA Strat at some stage, I just hope that they don't end up ceasing the manufacturing of the Fender Stratocaster altogether.
In the UK they are currently severely reducing the prices on the remaining American Standards (not just the Strat, Teles as well), down from over £1300 to £999 (about $1600 AUS at current exchange rates). Which is great for a mate of mine who's just about to buy one, especially as the £/$(US) exchange rate is so bad for us Brits at the moment when buying US-made kit. A lot of it is shooting up in price as a result.
