First Pitt Guit Kit - LP spalted maple top

    Hi,
Thought it might be time to start my build diary as I received the kit before Easter.
Loved it straight away, beaut patterns in the top and nice grains in the body with a few blemishes and a good amount of sanding to be done. I decided on black and gold with the timber to be the hero, so no stains on this one.

    Mock build attached

Let the timber do all the talking...
I like the cut of your jib

There is always a workaround for glitches, mistakes and other Guitar building gremlins.....

    Progress Post

Had a lot of fun sanding the timber and bringing the grain out and shaping the headstock.
Following that about 15 coats of clear, each one sanded back with 400 gritt, needless to say LOTS of hours of sanding!
After several experiments in making my own decal, I bought some decal paper and printed it on on a bubblejet. Then after another 6 attempts I finally got the result close to what I wanted!

Neck glued on last night and now ready for final coat and then finishing...awesome, more sanding
