Feast Watson Scandinavian Oil finish on Guitar body

A quick question, hope someone can provide some view, I have been using Scandinavian Oil as a finish for the body of my Telecaster. I have applied about 15 coats and have got the look I was after. I have left it to dry as went on holidays for a couple of weeks, so it has been about 20 days since the last coat was applied. I would expect that it should have well and truly dried by now, however still appears a bit tacky to touch. Do I need to provide some sort of sealer to finish, or do I need to be more patient? The manufactures advice is don't need to, and I have used this same product on a bar top to good effect, however bar top was a much hard wood?

I have used that product and it does take time to settle down.
I also applied Feast Watson furniture wax over the top. That improved the tacky feel.
Test it on a scrap piece first though just to be certain.

Did you follow the Feast Watson instructions to the letter?
At first they say 1-2 coats is needed then they say 3-4 coats to achieve a gloss coat so your 15 coats may have been maybe a few too many if you didn't let it dry enough before applying the next coat.
I have used the oil before and never had a problem but I only used 2 or 3 coats.
Did you apply the oil and wait 30 minutes before you wiped off the excess oil and then wait 8 hours before applying the next coat?

I have gotten a high gloss finish on an Ash body by sanding the body as smooth as possible then applying sanding sealer to flatten the grain which was a pain as I first applied the sealer only to the deep grain grooves that ash has and didn't apply to the full body until I had the grain flat. Applied 2 coats of sealer to the whole body then used the oil as per instructions and it was as gloss as an oil can be. Between coats I left it over night just to make sure it wasn't tacky to the touch. If the last coat is still tacky never apply another coat.

Thanks that sounds positive, will give it a bit more time and maybe try the Furniture wax. As Dikkybee007 has mentin below some of the early coats I may not of wipe off the excess oil after 30 mins, but definetly had given it the full 8 hours dring time between coats. I will see how your suggestion works, Thanks again.

Thanks for comments, my guitar body is Basswood which appers to be very soft wood. I definetly left at least 8 hours between coats but not confident that I wiped off excess oil after 30 minutes each time. I think I will give it some more time, have had a few hot days which may help.
