I couple of months ago I was in Chicago. While there I visited the Chicago Music Exchange that I had seen many times on-line, and made a couple of small purchases. Just what I was looking for! If you are ever in Chicago, it's worth the pilgrimage. It's across the street from Chicago Motors Inc which "specializes in quality pre-owned police cars". I think they could have filmed the entire Blues Brothers movie within a few blocks of the place.

I fell in love with a red Epiphone Crestwood with mini-humbuckers... I didn't pull the trigger on it, but have been thinking about how it sounded ever since. So when I saw this on eBay...

...I ordered it. I realize it gives off more of a PRS vibe than an Epiphone one...but it's routed for HBs and I figure I can get pickup rings to accommodate mini or FB humbuckers. I am not usually one for flame maple tops, because I am too ham-handed not to sand through the veneer, but I corresponded with the seller, and was told that top is actually 1cm thick. He also told me it's flat, so I am thinking I may use a roundover router bit to make sort of like one of those Wilshire/Coronet/Crestwood guitars from the late 60s.

So...I guess I'd better finish the projects I have now...with this one, I now have 4 unstarted ones in the cue...
