My pine basses are between 3.4 and 3.7 kg (assuming my luggage scale is accurate), and the Victorian ash bass was 4.2 kg.

The paulownia body has quite a lot of character! I never realized it could have that much pattern. For my axe bass the paulownia had no pattern at all.

How heavy is the SX jazz at the moment?

And one completed pickguard. Routed out using a straight pattern following bit, and then the edges are angled using a chamfer moulding 45 degree pattern following bit.

Today I have made a template for the Tele bass pickguard. I have based it on the style of a thinline guard. It is made from 12mm mdf. There is only a volume and tone for the controls!

From the video, I think the neck pup is really close to the low E and quite far from the high E string. This may be affecting the volumes.

But, I would be trying good strings.
