Nice job! Yes, those Japanese saws are a great.
This might be a good idea to consider using a different bridge. The three point bridge that comes with the kit has a tendency to pull out from...

I was amazed at the difference it made.
You could put 500K pots in all three locations. You're right that would be the "standard" logic. If you do use the 250K pot, I don't think it will make much difference. I think the tone pot is not...
+1 This last coat looks good! Hoping the polishing goes well. Way to hand in there. Silver should be great with black hardware.
The holy grail is the idiot proof approach to a perfect...
It is looking great. It will be another unique creation;-) I am curious what pickups you plan to put in it? Did you decide on a control circuit?
It occurred to me that you might find this...
These were sold by a guy who was a huge fan of ASAT basses. He offered them to folks who sent him an inquiry at Talkbass or at the G&L bass forum (https://www.bassesbyleo.com/forum/index.php). I...
Ha! I think it's the last bass that Leo Fender designed. As far as I know the only Fender bass that has a body like the Tele guitar. (I am, of course, talking about Fender-designed basses, regardless...
The bass now weighs about 4.5 kg (9.8 lbs). Not all that different than my G&L ASAT bass (similar looking to one of your Tele bass builds). By contrast, my semi hollows weigh around 7.6 and 6.9...
Some years ago I got an SX Jazz bass for about $100 as a backup and a platform for experimenting with mods. Over time I replaced the pickups and electronics twice, cleaned up the fret ends, gave it a...
This looks really great and seems a bit like a culmination. How does it compare to the other Tele Basses? Which is your favorite?

I liked it before. Shinier now. Great color...and love the glasslike finish. Something to aspire to ;-)
Looks a bit like the "wildwood" Coronados. I had in mind doing something similar with a bass. My "Laureado" bass uses a Fender Jazz bass neck and an ES-335 bass body. I haven't found anywhere that...
This is really cool, and a pretty great price. The only bad thing I can see about it is that it lowers my resistance to think about building an amp. Now I just have the mantra to keep repeating to...
I like that last one...and generally the results you are getting with the Ubeaut dies. I have never seen them here...but you are certainly getting good results.
I also liked the...
CTS no less. Nice! You'll need to enlarge the pot-hole a little. No big deal.
Shhhhhhhhhhhh!!!! She'll hear you!
Funny how that works. I started one build because I had a neck, and just stared acquiring parts until it became a bass. Did the same thing with a body. Now there I have this one really nice pickup on...
If your output it low you might want to raise your pickups. Here's what Fender recommends... I'd pick what you think the Artecs are closest too and experiment a bit.

Looks great! Glad you got some supportive weather!
I got a great deal on my GFS pickups that were NOS and did not have the quick connects. I don't think the color codes are 100% consistent. There are lots of guides to how they are wired like this...
Welcome to my world ;-) It is never reliably not hot and humid here. I have pretty much decided that I just can't really use spray equipment. It's always hovering around the high end for humidity,...
Interesting to see what you did with the wiring, Weirdbits. I am curious which of the B+N options you use. Are they all useful settings?
I have the "Modern Vintage" version, four conductor, not...
I love my lil'punchers. Good choice! Could you post a link to Weirdbits's diagram?

Changing pot location should would not keep you from having sound, but before connecting it, are you sure the pots are turned all the way up? It's probably a bad ground, but it's a good idea to check...
It looks right in the diagram:
I am assuming your wire colors are the same for both pickups...
For the neck pickup:
black should go to the center terminal, top pot
green and silver should be...
