Final stages RC 12
Neck set RC 12.
Yes, I did a darker coat over the top, looks better
sun spot rethink
Not sure about the sun spot , may have a rethink.
When I set it up initially I thought the action was fine but then I screwed down the resonator cone and found the strings were touching the fret board, only just so I place a thin strip of wood...
Sounds very nice with or without an amp. The bridge pick up works well but as with my other resonators it's hard to get the true sound of the resonator through a pick up but playing with the balance...
It's got to do with the 12-6 converter comb.
Yeah got lucky with some nice warm days to dry the finish and had the first coat on within 3 days of starting, learned a few things like I should have masked the binding, there's a lot of small...
The finished article, plays very well. I had to raise the bridge about 1.5mm, action is good, intonation spot on. As soon as I strung it I played for about 3 hours, couldn't put it down. Sounds...
Yes was going to finish last night but the power went out, just the electrics to finish
Laser alignment
Gluing the neck, fitting machine heads, checking neck alignment. fitting tail piece
Be careful about RMS vs peak values of speakers and amps and it doesn't hurt to give your speakers a bit of head room ie over rate them so if your amp is say 50w RMS then use a bigger speaker say...
Thanks Wayne.
Chickenfucker tail piece...
I got the labels done for the 12 string...
Eddy would find this one hard to play with the string spacing as is, apart from the obvious mistake, how did you fit the strings into the tail piece? only 6 slots so did you fit 2 strings per slot?
second coat
Yes will go this way as well, I think this is what is meant to happen..
Re: sound holes just for show..Not on my version, it has a resonator that will resonate regardless of any connection to an amp and a hollow body that will no doubt give is some acoustic...
On my other resonator the tail piece is resting on the top plate but has a felt pad between the plate and the tail piece, you definitely need to get it as low as possible to get the tension over the...
Looks like it's been damaged and repaired....not very well.
Got to love that Reso sound, and steel on steel, I have a full brass body resonator I got from the US, I tried to electrify it but didn't have much success, totally different set up to this one,...
I thought it would be easier to work on (sanding, staining , varnishing) before any assembly, sound holes, not sure it will make much difference to the sound as it's an electric guitar but may make a...
