Great work dude
There’s only a chorus left at that price now. Damn I should have bought some last night when I first saw the sale.
I thought it was a scam lol
I’ve seen this too, what’s the catch?
That looks badass bro
Great build
(Extra points for the cat)
This confirms my suspicions. People rave about the stuff but I’ve seen videos etc and can’t see the hype.
I think some products get used a lot by people, then suddenly become “the standard” despite...
Welcome
Best of luck with your build bro
Thanks rabbit the thought definitely crossed my mind, but can’t find much information on them.
Nah I mean the 5 because the 4 is too small and will leave large gaps, but the 5 has similar dimensions to the pickups routings.
Howdy gang
I’m currently in the middle of building my first kit (EX-4) and thinking about buying some different pickups.
I don’t want to spend too much and found these Wilkinson MWJH5s that...
Welcome, I’m also doing my first build (EX-4).
Best of luck with the SG

Hi Toolman
Happy to hear from another artist :)
I well aware of the longer drying time with oil paint, which is actually part of why I chose oil so I can tweak the colour or fix up...
Depends on if it’s an water based polyurethane or a solvent based polyurethane, obviously I’d use solvent based if I were to choose that option.
Going to test on the piece of basswood I tested...
Problem fixed but can’t delete post

I don’t want to use anything that will change colour with age like TruOil, Nitro, etc. and you definitely can’t use acrylic over oil.
Rest assured I’ll be doing several coats of the Golden....
What would you suggest?
Planning on using Golden MSA spray varnish
Thanks muppet, I'm happy with it so far.
It's been easier than I had imagined it would be, so less chance of mistakes for a novice like myself.
As I said I'll sand back the sides an repaint...
No we play the waiting game for another two weeks for it to dry.
So I painted/stained the front and sides this morning and I'm pretty happy with how its turning out so far.
There is some thicker patches of excess paint on the sides from when I painted the back,...
Cool so it’s not just me
I also usually just buy strings online anyway and I really need to buy a few sets as I haven’t bought bass strings in years lol
The shop I got my jazz bass from earlier...
More of a curiosity than a problem, but I was wondering what type/brand of strings come with 4 string bass kits?
I decided to put the stings on another bass because I'll be buying strings for a...
Welcome to the forums
I did a PTB on my LTD "les paul jr" shaped guitar, 2 pickups on it but the PTB is a nice subtle way to clean up the mud (or leave it there) when using distortion.
I thought long and hard about different configurations for my EX-4. I ultimately decided to just go with V/V/T because I'm more used to this setup from mostly playing a thunderbird for the last 10...
