Thanks Wokks. The plate is screwed down around its perimeter.
Back plate came up OK, but the edges of the rout are as rough as bags (see pic)
Might "finesse this mess" with some black binding material that's kicking around - If I can actually be bothered.

Try using Pine-O-Clean . . .
Just a thought he he.
It's a triumph of development over design . . .
Hard to believe how amazing the end result is considering this wee beastie was built "on the fly"
I'm truly flabbergasted!
Thanks VERY much for the insight into PU/Pot tech Simon.
I will indeed play with with different configs now I've been enlightened.
A bit more advancement has happened here meantime . . .
Got a...
I love Art Deco and I love this too . . .
It even has a vaguely Goth feel about it? A la a cathedral entrance?
Far too good for the kitchen my man.
Super customisation work on this little beauty. Busting to see the full effect when she's done.
I'd call this a very sexy guitar indeed - top stuff.
Would piano or harp strings work? I have no idea of their lenghth, gauge or whether they are ferrous or not.
Ah, the joys of building off the wall guitars . . . man, I hope it all comes together OK....
Thanks gents for your interest in this little project.
Wow! Those Molonators are cooool. New to me & very clever.
Bit more work done . . . . wired the PUPs with the bridge SC concealed as...
Very interesting, I'm keen to see progress on this.
Such a nice project to do for your daughter.
What sort of body shape & other stuff are you contemplating?
Reminds me of my "Baby Blue"...
I'm utterly awestuck!
If the Guitar Asylum guys ever catch you, I doubt you will be coming out for a loooong time.
Sh-t . . . . only JUST been released myself . . .
Thanks a heap Wokks.
You are truly a star of the show my friend.
Yes indeed, it's good to be back in the (bridge?) saddle.
That's inspirational! I just love the custom work you've done and the hardware mods too . . .
More power (force?) to you dude!
Where the 'stock work is at now . . .
More:
The rout ( prior to chiselling for a convex result)
Reduced plate first fit.
The beginning of the end of the original 'stock
Ooops - pics are frack to bunt for unknown reasons.
Heeeeer's more:
How to reduce the diameter of a reso plate (everyone needs to know this?) and a jig for cutting a perfect (I hoped!) circular...
Mad Max is back for 2017 with another sacrilegious remodelling . . .
I've had this delightfully smooth to play ESP "shop bought" axe for a few years, but just couldn't face having an "ordinary"...
Better than factory? I think so . . . I lifts me lid to the quality of your work Mr G!
I'm truly gobsmacked. Outsatanding effort methinks . . .
Left out a full frontal . . .
Finished this recently after being told all my stuff was too "blokey"
Might have gone a bit OTT with this tribute to femininity . . .
Anyway, my wonderful new lady reckons it's pretty awesome....
The latter, plus for the wall as I rarely try to play . . .
Maybe the "Blues Brothers" worked on me subliminally?
For reasons unknown even to myself, I wanted a 3/4 or 1/2 scale Tele to go with my "Blue Max" Full size TL-1.
No mini Tele's available these days to repaint/modify as far as I could tell?
So I...
Wow, that's really out there dude. Keen to see the final outcome.
P.S. I'm very happy with my Dremel router.
