That is such a nice idea - I wish you really well with it. I have a few guitars but the Tele that I built has become really special for me so hopefully this will work out the same for you and your...
I was happy with the sound - like you say - it sounds like a Tele
The pickups are just the ones that came with the PitBull kit - they are doing the job well
Thanks a lot - I am really glad that it came out sounding OK - on to the next one now I guess
Thanks a lot
Hopefully after another 15 or 20 builds I will start to iron out the kinks :)
Thanks for the reminder - I will take the washer off at the first string change and see what happens
Otherwise it can remain as 'character'
Hi everyone - I put together a video talking about the mistakes that I made and some of the lessons that I learned along the way whilst building my Tele kit. Hopefully it will be of value to some of...
That sounds like a great idea - like you I think the natural finish will be the go - especially if you find a great piece of timber.
I would like to build one from scratch next - another Tele with...
Thanks very much
I am thrilled with that colour - it just screams vintage tele to me
Thanks a lot - I finally got a block of time to finish it up
I am so happy with the colour
I have learned a lot though (plenty of mistakes made) and am planning the next one
Are you building...
This is just a quick demo of the sound from the newly completed Tele. The Fender amp in the background is the one that it is plugged into.

Progress as measured by colour of footwear
Judging by the dusting of green over white I reckon the second coat must have been done.
I have been following the troubles you have been having and it must be so frustrating. Hopefully the next go will deliver the right outcome. Will hopefully make your next build a breeze.
Judging by the chip pile you have there the lesson seems to be - never underestimate a patient man with a sharp chisel.
Thanks a lot for your kind words - I am optimistic but soooo careful considering how easily it can go wrong
Off to buy more 400 grit paper - the hidden cost of guitar building.

Finally applying the colour. I know it won't be to everyone's taste but it is exactly the colour I was hoping for. So one down, another 5 or 6 to go.
I'm sorry you are having some issues with the application but the colour is epic - that will look incredible in the end
Its one of those times where having been busy at work has been in my favour and stopped me from rushing.
Getting to the colour stage is pretty stressful though but will do my best
I am so glad...
This is just a really quick video update to show the jump from final sanding to primer being applied

Being a beginner like you I have no idea - I hope you can work it out though
I had been thinking that if mine turns really bad in patches it can always get some relic-ing done on it and I can say...
Final coat of primer has been applied - now it just needs to sit for a week and think about what it's done.

Hi everyone,
I am a little bit behind in the videos showing where I am up to - I have done a couple of coats of primer and am really happy with how that is coming along now.
This is the...
After an extended break due to work commitments I have finally sprayed on the first coat of nitro primer.
To say the fumes from it are strong is an understatement - I am glad I bought a good...
Really excited to see the whole thing coming along so quickly now - I hope the top coat goes well for you too
That looks fantastic - I would say its identical to the colour on my Fender J-Bass
I am so impressed with how that turned out - a colour to remember for the future.
