Looks like it might do the trick. Has it got a flat bottom or curved bottom?
Need one with a curved bottom *cue the innuendo*
Yeah it's metal. You had me contemplating it for a moment, but then I remembered:

So I was just putting the finishing touches on my GS-2Q when I realised (no doubt due to my custom pick up choices), I don't have any pick up surrounds. I've ordered a set off ebay, except the bridge...
So I've obtained a different combo with controls along the front.

This looks like a straight forward case of flipping everything upside down, except for one thing:
All the pots and...
Not that the owner of this guitar intended to enter it in a beauty contest...

Have just done a post about how much a guitar should really cost. Have given Pitbull a bit of a shout out:

My thoughts:
Feel free to abuse/neglect your own gear, no judgement from me.
If you borrow anything from someone else, guitar or otherwise, you treat it with utmost care and respect.
That was...
So what music is everyone into?
I've only ever played in originals bands with a pre-arranged set list to rehearse and gig. I have to ask:
What sort of thing happens at a local jam?
Pre-arrange covers are learned and played...
Assuming you'll be playing it upright like a cello, I'd recommend putting the controls up near the neck where you can reach them. Where you have them marked out looks like they'll be down at floor...
Before I knew what was what, my only pedal was a metal zone. I often plugged headphones into the output for silent practice.
A valve pre-amp pedal would do the job nicely. You could plug your headphones direct into the output, or hook it up to an amp in the effects loop, or push the front of the amp into over drive....
He did explain that he wasn't set up for it and that it's nasty stuff to deal with. I was just wondering if the end result will be worse off for having gone with acrylic instead?
The luthier's insistence on an acrylic finish over poly was obviously a cost and ease-of-use consideration. What are the benefits/concerns with using one over the other?
Also his excitement/relief...
I believe they're traditionally played with the back of your fret hand fingernail against the string like a slide. That being the case, you want the fret board to be way back out of the way.
That's awesome! Non-Western stringed instruments will always turn my head.
I'm more into Middle Eastern stuff, but definitely appreciate this.
My other half is a bit of a fan of The Hu.

*Smacks forehead* I absolutely had not considered balance.

I had no idea. Given the factory has routed for a strat pickup, this would have been a great option
If I could Bare Knuckles for the price of Toneriders...
I must confess it was initially an aesthetic choice to get a single coil which also had a gold cover. Then I heard the demos on the Tonerider site, and that sealed the deal. Here's one:

Ok, I've pulled the trigger and got something in the works. No build diary as I've outsourced the build.
For those curious about the design:
I've ordered a custom GS-2Z.

Thanks Colin.
Thanks guys, that's as I suspected.
I was just thinking about the differences between cheap amateur guitars and drool-inducing pro guitars. Obviously quality of timber, pick ups and fit & finish play a huge part. I started thinking...
