They do look much better with the veneer. Love the tribute to Albert too! He doesn't usually get the mention that he should.
Looking good mate. My only thought about the veneer is that, as most of us have found out by mistake, you could just sand through it. The veneer is only 0.6mm. It will also allow you to get the body...
Fantastic. Wish you all the best on the build and bonding. Just be patient.....probably with both but I meant the building.
Let us know how it performs. I have the 100w MK1 and it's a beaut. I have one channel for clean, one blues, one really dirty and one funky setting. I left the 'panel' on a setting with a good clean...
It is usual to have some glue spots. Use some Goof Off with a rag or soft brush then reapply the stain. Should be no problem.
Maybe a JM-1 kit would get pretty close?
I agree with Christodav. Use a clear coat.
Looks great mate. Badass rock n roll.
Rock n roll mate! Looks great.
Goof Off and a cotton bud can help remove stain from the binding too.
Without, of course.
Looking good.
Just to add some more confusion for you, try looking at these options;

I did something similar with my strat copy. I think I used .22's for more treble but don't quote me. I have found that the cap value depends a bit on the pickup sound. Sometimes they are quite bright...
Might just need some sanding in the pocket corners?
Very, very nice!
You could always try using shims to get the angle you need.
No mate. Put it straight on
I've just found that if I do it that way, it gives better contact and reduces noise more.
Hi mate. It's an earth problem in one or two places. First, check the bridge earth for a good, clean contact. Second, copper tape the back of the control panel and control cavity so that the tape...
As I say to all new builders, beware of Tru Oil as it will yellow over time and ruin a lovely blue axe by turning it green. Doesn't seem to effect other colours but never use it with blue.
FCD has...
NOOOOOOO!!!! In fact 1200 grit is probably too fine. The pores in the wood need to be open to allow the oil to penetrate. Usually 240 to 320 grit is fine enough. Once to oil has penetrated, hardened...
There are plenty of us that have "popped the grain" on a veneer. So there is plenty of info available. Remember to always use a test piece of wood first to get your technique and colour level right....
"Alcohol does not give you much time before its gone" - too true!
Looks fantastic and will finish up just beautifully.
