But then I would have the white backing on the black headstock.

Hi all. Have a bit of a dilemma with my black headstock. I have printed out some decals on decal paper in lighter colours like gold etc. And when I apply them the ink is invisible against the black. ...
All good. Plugged in andcno earthing issues. Happy days.

After another look it is the tailpiece insert where the ground wire goes.
But the tailpiece to the post is still powder coat to powdercoat. So how do strings get grounded?

Ok. Building an AG model with black hardware.
I understand that the strings must be grounded through the bridge post.
Problem is that through all the black coating I dont think I will be able to...
Presto. Very easy and safe...
It's ok. Managed to remove bushes by putting a short screw into the hole then screwing in the insert to kind of pull them out. Worked great.
Now I can ground the strings.[emoji846]

In all my building excitement I think I have screwed up royally.
Having already eagerly banged in the inserts for the bridge and tailpiece I now read that I have to insert a wire through to ground...
Lovely. 5 bucks from Melbourne.

I have a quick question. Does anyone know where I can get one of the rythm/treble selector switch plates from as I didn't get one with the kit?

I'm glad I ordered the black hardware with it. Really suits the sg.

Neck glued. Fingers crossed. I would hate to have to try and get it...
Yep. Easier to adjust when glueing if I have a bit of play there.

Hey Sonic. Set up neck ready for glueing as per your advice but I think the distance is a bit much. About 630 to high e saddle and that is screwed almost all the way forward. I may have to trim a bit...
Thanks heaps for that Sonic.

Where it meets body. Haha.

Thanks for that will do. See where I didnt sand back and stain back of neck properly. Lol. Newbie error.

Just making sure when the neck is flush with the cavity that this is the correct place to glue it. Would be easier if hardware was installed maybe? Then I could get more of a visual. I'm hoping that...
I am just worried about the angle. Should I just glue it flush with the cavity? I thought if the hardware was all on I could see if the strings were nice and level.

Dumb question here. Sorry in advance. Should I install all the hardware on the body before I glue the neck on or vice versa.
Getting nicer now. Just took a lot of patience and sanding.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190227/2206bbe1f4b22c175c19a1a8f655065a.jpg

Ok. Thanks everyone for your advice. I have learned a valuable lesson. Prep and sanding. Photo 1 is my rush job. Photo 3 is my patience. Numerous coats of true oil to go now and plenty of 0000 steel...
On a brighter note I followed the advice and used a diamond file on the 12th fret mother of pearl and managed to get it pretty flush. A few minor scratches which I can polish out.
Thanks...
Just starting soak coats on the end grain now.
