Hi Genesis 58, I used the neck kit on both the back of the neck and the fretboard, so far it seems to be working quite well. I put 4 coats on if they helps.
Also don't use it on rosewood...
Hi, just out of curiosity, did Fender mount the string ferrules on 1959 Telecasters flush or did they make them sit proud? It looks as if they are flush in most pictures, but I am not certain....
Hi everyone, I am wondering, will Nitrocellulose Sanding Sealer work as a sanding sealer under Duplicolour Primer and subsequent Duplicolor coats (colour coats and top coats)?
Thanks for any...
Very nice! I'm sure it looks great!
Love it BD! Looks great! Was it a kit or a scratch build?
BD, I have a nitro sanding sealer
I actually e-mailed David, he then provided me his number and got me to call him so he could walk me through what changes have happened to his process.
I found another technique, Timbermate - sand - sanding sealer - Timbermate again (if it needs it) - more sanding sealer (if you added more Timbermate). I got this from Fletcher custom guitars:

Thanks. I'm glad my stream is helping someone else out BD. Mark, the Timbermate I have is 4 In 1 and specifies it is for grain filling as 1 of the 4, not sure if this is what you mean but it might be...
Thanks Mark, I know people who have had Timbermate stay level after it has dried and been sanded and there are no craters I am trying to fill, only where the grain is a bit wavy. Do you mean you used...
Alright thanks for all your help
Sorry, misread you message, I am using a solid colour so it does not matter if the grain is accentuated or not, do you think timbermate is not the right stuff, or if I apply it as said in my previous...
Thanks Dozymuppet, I have got a nitro sanding sealer. So I apply the filler over the whole body, apply the sanding sealer and then primer and so on and so forth is that correct? Also, how many coats...
Hi everyone,
I am working on an STA1M kit (Ash Stratocaster) and I am unsure how to go about filling the grain. I am going to use Timbermate filler, and I have seen some people on YouTube smearing...
Thanks guys, I would rather not purchase a new neck, but we'll see. Looks really good King Casey. Thanks very much for your help everyone:)
That looks really nice King Casey. Simon Garden, I have already cut the headstock and the tuners would fit by the dimensions on the website, however they will overhang the base which was pre cut in...
Thanks for all your replies. It would seem that the holes are too far apart for the Gotoh ones and I would assume that other brands would have the same dimensions.
Thanks for the offer King Casey...
Hi, I am looking at putting vintage tuners on my STA 1M kit. I had a look at some Gotoh ones, but they required different measurements to what is on my headstock.
Has anyone had experience with...
That's great thank you! I had suspected that I would need to aim below the tint, thanks again.
I would just like to add, will the colourless kit age over time? Also will a water-slide decal stick to the neck kit?
Sorry for the large amount of questions.
Look forward to hearing a reply:)
Hi all, I am working on a Stratocaster kit, I would like to give the neck a very slight tint. If I am using the Dingotone neck kit (colourless), what should I use to add a slight tint? Also, how...
