Looks dead sexy. Proceed by all means 😁
I'll try to get some shots tomorrow
Thanks guys, definitely wouldn't have worked out this well if not for all the assistance and advice of the forum members. Congrats to Ozzbike, Sachin and Tommygun for their awesome builds, especially...
Cheers Tony, I'm sure it's not what you envisaged when you got it 🤣
I'm happy to assist with a build, but probably not up to scratch building necks. I'm based in brissie. I have a mate with a fractal burner that can give some cool effects for neck and body.
It plays very nicely, good low action. Still feeling all the sounds out as I've never had an electric before, but there are plenty of options there. I'm not much of a player, but my neighbour is...
That Camphor laurel looks really nice, love the stain colour with it. What did you fill those small surface cracks with?
Nice find Simon, can't wait to see this one come back to life.
Probably would have ended up as firewood if not for yourself, Waz and many others helpful advice along the way. This forum is a great place to learn new skills and extend yourself
A few more pics
Well, after a year and a half, this axe is done and submitted for December GOTM. I'll some pics here to finalise the build diary.
Spec are as follow.
Artist bullbucker pickups, wired in split coil...
I ran into this issue last week, when replacing a Bourne push pull pot, which I think are 19 spline. The DiMarzio pot looks identical and was told they were made in same factory but spline count...
Probably some body parts too that you would rather keep attached as well.
I am not that brave Frankie, I'd be a dead man if another guitar turned up. Next thing I have to build is a rack to hold them.
Few more glory shots
Well, been a long time this build, but it is finally time to call this one done!
May I introduce 'BLAM!' this EX-1 was adopted from Tony here on the forum over a year and half ago, and my plan was...
Yes, they do look like came our of the same factory, i loved that rebuild of your Cort, strange how my comment back in your first post came true. I am a Gumtree whore....
Nice progress so far, all I will say is be patient. From seeing lots of builds here on the forum and my own experiences, most of the issues with finishes not turning out as well as expected are due...
Thanks Tony, for the pics, they good good, nice simple and clean. I had s bit of a look on YouTube and one of the guys doing a review made it sound pretty easy to remove a pot if it was faulty. Looks...
From my recent research, i think the early Raptors had ply bodies. I'm led to believe these are now basswood at least. I think all i will do is upgrade the wiring and pots for now and then see. You...
Thanks Simon, I'm happy to own my builds 😁
'he' is not much into the internals of the guitar, so these looked a nice simple easy way to re-wire and change pots quickly without soldering.
Has anyone used one of these? I am asking for a mate who is looking to upgrade the wiring and pickups in his Les Paul.

Cheers Phil, I don't have a 'strat' style guitar, so good to have something different to play with. Super happy with amp, perfect for what I need and a few effects to play with.
Love the fret jig, I wish I saw that earlier for my fret re-do, would have made things much easier
I really need to stop looking at Gumtree and Marketplace, I stumbled on an Orange crush 20 LDX, the one with built in effects and tuner, and in even came with a Peavy Raptor plus, Strat clone. Both...
