I'm back....My first build for quite a while. :D
This is my first commissioned build, a bog standard ST-1, in natural timber with a purple burst.
The "Wildwina" refers to her nickname, which...
Just a quick note to the many friends and clients I have made through this forum.
My mother passed away on Sunday afternoon, 7th September (Fathers Day).
Finally succumbing to her battle with...
Well done, Gav...Welcome to the "inner sanctum".
Another win or two, and Wokka and I will have to teach you the secret handshake. :D
Love the attention to detail you put into this build...superb...
lol Wokka!! No...no entries from me for a while.
Currently building a Strat and about to start an Explorer for other people.
Will get these out of the way first, then I will decide what to build...
@ Wokka
That Tele really glows Wokka...good stuff!
@ Gav Turner
Superb work Gav, that bass is factory quality.
Maybe this will be the one to take it out, hey!
Those hollow bodies look awesome Gav. Must be terrible having to decide which one to play!
Got your decal posted off a couple of days ago...you should get it early in the week.
All the best for...
Yeah, a couple of thin clear coats over the silver before spraying the black burst is a good idea.
Especially seeming that it's your first build. As you say, it's a good insurance policy.
I did...
You did a great job Gav. I reckon you have really nailed this one.
Next time should be easier, with the amount of experience you now have.
Well done mate.
Looking superb Gav. Love the colours and the burst. Brilliant job!
May I ask how you applied the Colortone? Rubbed or sprayed?
I used Colortone on my 1st build, the LP, by adding it to the lacquer....
Some really good stuff on "Gig On Saturn".
That is some real talent you got there, Barge.
Really well done, congrats!
Cheers
Andy
Good to see things are starting to progress again Stan.
It is difficult this time of year getting those coats dry, can really slow progress down.
Like Jarrod said, try and keep those coats thin.
...
Well done Barge...welcome to the fraternity!
Knew you had a winner on your hands from the moment I laid eyes on the finished product.
There is real class and beauty in the "Blacktops" simplicity....
OMG Tim, that top looks absolutely divine!!
What a fantastic kit...Pitbull deliver again, hey!
I will be keen to watch your progress on this one.
Cheers
Andy
That looks like something that's been dropped out of the backend of a cow!
I have had thoughts of tackling a steam punk "pitbull" for a while now. One of those "one day, maybe" projects tucked away in the dim dark recesses of my mind. Just thought it would be something...
I would also like to try a quilted maple finish.
Have been eyeing off this strat for a while now, it's part of the Fender Select Series.
Love the quilted maple. This is so simple, but so classy....
My only other thought on the lacquer issue was, were you allowing the nitro coats to dry of properly between coats?
If you lay on too many wet coats, there is a definite risk of it reacting with the...
Hi Bargeloobs
Don't know if I will be of much help really.
My wide format sign printer doesn't print white.
The lettering in your logo is way too small to vinyl cut...the only way is to print...
Only one behind me...mmmm better get cracking on something soon.
And when you do equal me on 4 wins, it then goes on percentages.
Number of wins to number of builds....haha got ya there!!!!
Thanks for the crown Wokka...you wouldn't be far off now?
Just started my first paid build, a Strat, natural timber (maybe a light stain) with a purple burst.
Also about to get an Explorer...
Big congrats Wokka...that really is such a classy and beautiful strat.
Well done to everyone...terrific work.
Cheers
Andy
@ Lawry
You cheeky man!!...anyhow, a Paisley print is SO yesterday!
Well done to all entrants, what a terrific lineup.
Congrats to the winner, Johnny that Ricci is really superb.
Honourable mention to both Gavin and Scott, guitars that any other month could easily...
Have watched Chappers and the Captain a lot...they always do really good comparisons. They are the dudes!!
