So finally, after finishing then refinishing again I've got this done. Electronics completed last night, all is good. My Tele now sounds like a Strat! Cannot think why....... My wife also commented...

Quick update after about 8 coats of TO. Starting to gloss up. Dust is a real pain with black based finish!

Well... the shaving razor blades were too lightweight to shave back the dots but worked ok for burnishing the fretboard. Stanley knife blade was too harsh, what worked best was a blade from a smaller...

Nice looking harness I’m sure it will contribute to the tone. You may also need to adjust the depth of the control route, you’ll find out once the width is sorted

It didn’t take much to get this sanded ready for staining.
FW is on, I wanted black and that’s what I got!
I’ll whack on another coating later, leave a few days then hit with the TO
...
Bridge on and a set up required. The Allparts Bad Ass style bridge allows me to align the strings nicely and allows a nice low action.
I think that’s it for this Squire Affinity bass. Every thing...
And time for dot levelling. I ended up using a combination of small and large craft knife blades and some tape to limit the scraping area. A small file came in handy for cutting back the higher dots....

I think the joint at the headstock end is a scarf joint. Provides a lot of strength and I think more robust than one piece
