So here it is. I need to get a kink out of the first 3 frets as there's some fret buzz (the truss rod isn't playing ball). Have a $3 black pick guard coming from china but might not be here for some...
Ok so it's a dilemma I'm faced with and I'm sure many of you have also. I play through a fender hot rod deluxe iii, which is a loud little so and so. So loud in fact that even playing "big" rooms...
Sums up my PitBull experience (thus far)! Although my first build isn't finished result is looking closer to reality

Thanks guys. Been sure to leave 24 hrs between coats.
Hmm blue fret markers you say. I like that idea. I'm looking at the black gotoh tuners, black bridge, black nut, pick guard etc etc but white...

Question. How many coats do you seasoned TO'ers do? And do you cut an polish afterward? Ive got access to a buffing wheel
Thanks guys.
Now to slide parts in under the boss' nose without getting caught. Gotoh tuners & bridge, graph tech nut and I'm thinking tone rider (the blues ones, name escapes me) pickups (white...

Hmmm. I can access a spray gun. I'll have to investigate.
Surely lacquer would get a better finish with way less coat? What about rattle pack options? I'm TO the neck cause I like it under hand.
I was planning in tru oil but I'm thinking I'd like a high gloss now. Got any suggestions???
Gav it's a cabots oil base stain. So I've been informed by the paint shop lady that they use a clear base now and tint to obtain colour. Same as paint. However, as this is a new process they really...
Hey Andrew have you got your stain yet? I am doing the exact same thing with a st kit at the moment (some of the guys that have posted to you have been very helpful on my build). The paint store lady...
Thanks so much Wok. The colour has come up soooo much better. I'll leave it till tomorrow and put one last coat on.

Sounds good. I'll grab some in the morning and put another coat on.
Lol photo bombed by Mrs S's foot. I'll give it another couple of coats tomorrow. Do I need that 0000 grade steel wool?
I think I'm happy 5 coats in. Still not as brilliant as I'd like but it's ok for my first crack.

Ok so today I've chucked another couple of coats of the blue stain on, looking bluer (is that a word?)
And also made a start on the headstock (neck is prepped up to1200 grit)
Here's the...
Massive face palm. Maybe the second coat will look better??? 8O
