Nice, I have the standard GT version of this. It’s a versatile little axe, though I find the neck a bit chunky.

Welcome aboard Mathew! Look forward to seeing your progress!
Looks great DJP! You’ll be looking forward to get the neck on it and get strung up yeah?

I identify with this so very much….👍🏾😜
Don’t be. Mine is a bombsite at the moment. I keep telling Ig0r not to mix volatiles in the lab but does he listen?
Giving it multiple burls Rabbit😉
So I decided that the headstock face needed to reflect the burl.
So with some judicious bandsaw, ryoba saw and thickness planer work we ended up with a 2mm slice of red gum burl for that.

Yes, on the plus side it did highlight a couple of areas of concern I’d not noted before. More things to fix!
A faulty sump pump in the basement, created a small flooding issue through the lab
Hi Doc, I can have a hunt through my small scraps box (when I find it, a lot of stuff is still displaced from water ingress to the lab).
I’m pretty sure I’ve got something suitable
I will likely weigh it rough to get an idea. Just have to find where Igor hid the scales….
The intention is to use epoxy, though I’m not sure if I want to go with just a clear, or a black/dark coloured version.

I don't see the issue? Admittedly, I need to expand may timber rack, my guitar rack, and make room for the additional tooling and bench space I need but I don't see that a problem?

So in the spirit of trying to get as many things done as possible in the stolen moments I have, there was some hurly Burly happening in the lab this afternoon....
Ah yes, it probably was, before the little whoopsie with the inserts. The subsequent repair left it a little out of sorts at the heel end, hence having to get that end of the board back to 12" Rad....
Mwahahaha! That’s a stack of fun I can get behind!
There’s some interesting looking darker timber below the bench on the right, what is that?

I’m sure we’re all in the same boat with these things. From time to time we simply don’t have time to make any headway.
Thankfully I found/made some time to progress this reimagining a little...
